Thanks everyone for all the info on this cool hobby. Here's my contribution back to the group.
Painted my stock with plastidip (camo green) bought from www.cardipcanada.ca ($14.99 plus shipping). 1 can gives you 5 coats and it gives a durable rubberized coating with a nice texture (the colder it is when you spray, the more speckled it comes out). BTW you need a mask and do this outside because the fumes are strong!
