Is the higher price worth it?

I'm under the impression that jacketed rounds are almost always more accurate

What are some decent brands of jacketed rounds other than zeros?

It appears Montana Gold bullets are quite popular in USPSA, mostly Open Div. I think that's due to the PF and velocities bullet needs to achieve.
Are you shooting Production? Have you tried Berry's or Campro HP and hollow base bullets? It seems HP and HB plated bullets are a bit more accurate than RN plated bullets.

I too was under that impression, but (for non-Open IPSC guns), I've found that I get the same accuracy out of coated JTT bullets that I do from jacketed. I've tested out to 50 yards (this is the distance for WSSSC standards) and can do as well with JTT as I can with my old match loads (which were jacketed).

Matt accuracy is kind of a "relative" topic and depends on what your expectations are. If Lead or jacketed bullets will hit the A Zone out to 50 yards in your guns when you apply your skills then they are just as accurate as FMJ in the form of BDX which are Montana Gold bullets made in Calgary. If, you are shooting Bianchi Cup and X's count more than the 10 ring the FMJ might make a difference but from my experience my flyers, if you will are on me not the bullet. I have shot 3/4" groups at 100 yards with my GC Lead bullets out of my Husky 30-06 that are as good as I can shoot FMJ bullets and have similar experiences with all three bullet types off a rest in my pistols (at 20 yards) once the load is dialed in.

I guess what I am saying is given quality made bullets be they lead, plated or FMJ, the results for most are no different. Get the load right under your favourite pill and your misses are on you.

If we had a website and more info on Ian's product - that'd be not just helpful but would boost his business a ton.
Tell us more about JTT.

Are they still in operation? I went to the website and it doesn't look like it has been updated since about 2013.

Yes they are. Small operation probably accounts for not maintaining their website. Tends to be a lot of work and if you are kept busy with sales volumes it is easy to neglect.

They do make great bullets.

We use a lot of BDX here in Saskatoon. We have a local guy that is a dealer for them. He deals with BDX, so though I've shots a great number of their bullets I've never dealt directly with BDX.

Yep - Kurt's still in business. His jacketed bullets are very good - His 45ACP (with a maple leaf on them, no less!) groups better for me at 50 yards than actual Montana Golds out of my targetmaster.
He, like Wolf - are so busy serving their wholesale customers you'd rarely hear from them - if at all. The ammo business is a good business to be in these days.

Are jackets better than plated? The 180gr Campros I shoot create a tighter group than Speer or MG at 50 in my Edge, but like I said above - the 45s from BDX were better than anything else in 45.
I say it all depends - both...

Curious, what do you pay for BDX where you are?

I don't think anything good can come to me from answering that.

Well, I've noticed that their prices have risen dramatically over the past few years to the point I would rather use Hornady FMJ's or even HAP for how close the price is.

Curious to know if others have been sharing the same experience.

I have found their prices reasonable enough. I do enjoy casting as a hobby so most of my practice and some of my competition shooting is done with lead bullets rather than FMJ.
