Well I headed out to the range tonight to try out my new to me Charter Arms AR-7 Explorer. I purchased this locally last week and really just bought it for the novelty of the take down. Well I had no expectations going in as I heard the horror stories with the Charter Arms era AR-7. I put the little rifle together and shot 200 rounds of CCI Mini mags at 25 yards off hand. I was very surprised that I had some nice little groupings given that the sights aren't the greatest but the biggest surprise was no failures of any kind!!!! This rifle fed and ejected every round flawlessly! It was even getting pretty dirty near the 200 round mark. I guess I got a good one. Im a happy camper.

They are miles ahead of the Charter Arms era AR-7. Those issues have disappeared. Mine has been reliable since day one.

The only issue on the Charter Arms that fixed mine is called the Toothpick' fix. The magz need a little wedge' behind them to get the angle right. You can use pretty much anything, or just do a permanent fix on some magz that dont feed well. After this, Presto* mine runs 100%. Usually this reason people complain on them. = Ez fix!
