Read through most of the IPSC rulebook yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at the shape and points configuration of the classic IPSC targets. Am i assuming too much or did they design the target so that heavier recoil handguns can still score in the "A" zone? For those who haven't seen the targets, the score zones cover more area vertically than horizontally, thus taking into account upwards muzzle drift after multi-tapped shooting for firearms that have a heavier recoil.
Was this designed for this purpose? If so, kudos to them for leveling the playing field as some firearms have more recoil than others. I have a P99 and because of its light weight, it has a bigger kick and i thought that i would be at a disadvantage in IPSC compared to the heavier Sigs that my buddies have.
