There are no '' official '' dimensions for 1911 style 9mm mag springs. Each manufacturer will adjust their specs in accordance with either their requirements or their material specs. As such the type of wire, it's thickness, twist profile and AOL will vary significantly between each manufacturer as it will over time depending on where they're sourcing their base material.

About the only thing you can do is buy one of each of the major builders and see what technique they apply to their respective base inputs.

Just use a 1911 mag spring and modify it to fit. I've used standard 1911 9mm spring in my Star and they work fine. I only had to trim a bit of wire to get it to recess in the follower. Overall easy job.

The coil style and twist rate is pretty irrelevant overall. It's the spring weight that matters. On short barrel auto's like the Officers they generally use extra power springs due to the increased slide velocity. The commander sized can use standard without many issues.

Hope that helps a bit.
