I'm an M1A guy not yet shooting past 4-500m. For cheap pratice I shoot 145-150gr FMJ bullet but for moose hunting I use 180gr. Like most of you, my hunting shots are mainly under 100m but can potentially stretch to 4-500m.
If I get a new rifle with a 1-12" twist, what should I expect when I switch to the heavy bullets?
Would the 180gr group twice tighter with a 1-10" (all else being equal)?
Or would I just have to try more ammo to find the one that shoots well in the slow twist?
