When I was browsing bull barrels, I had my eye on the .920 barrels from Dlask. I've heard quite a few people mention them on here, and they seem to be great for the price. I can't speak personally, as my funding went into a different project.
Why cheap if you want a bull barrel?
Wanting a bull barrel doesnt mean always better groups.
If you're doing a proper build. Go to rimfire central and do some reading and look at reviews.
Just cause one guy likes it, doesnt mean you will!
I love an ultralight 10/22 but others like a 10lb+ 10/22.
Dlask barrels are great.
Its when you get into match chambers and cheap ammo thats the problem.
I dont get it when people spend 1+k on their 22s and then use bulk ammo and complain about function or grouping.
Its like people spending 1-3K on a rifle and then use a $100 scope.
Why why why?
If you want good groups from a 10/22 just buy a volquarten or kidd and be done with it. No building a franken gun that may or maynot shoot.
If you want to burn money, build and swap just like many on here.
Just dont expect to get full value out of your build when you list it on EE.
Like many have!
Myself included.
Ya you can't go wrong with a dlask barrel. They come up one in a while on the EE. Check the flyers at some of the bigger chain sporting stores I got a 10/22 some months back for 275 from wholesale it was even with a fancy green wood stock.
Thanks guys. I checked out the Dlask and if another option doesn't come up soon I will email them to see when they will be in stock again.
little_airwolfe - Sorry, that's why I said cheapest worth buying. I actually saw the 10/22 T6 w/bull barrel build I like was on Rimfire Central. I saw a guy who had something very similar to what I want to build who seemed quite happy with it. And I figure I replicating a good build seems like a good place to start. I'm hoping that I can do this build for around $500 (after selling on bits I don't need) and I already have a BSA Sweet 17 that I will replace in time... That's actually really good info to know that bulk ammo is a no go for a match grade barrels. Thank you. I will make sure to do some research on that and not go too cheap on the ammunition I put through it when target shooting.
HeliMD - Thanks for the heads up. I would be sold for $275.
