I used a digital caliper, with the cylinder open, I measured the barrel from the forcing cone to the muzzle, and I got 105.91mm
I've been through this before with a SW Mod 59, 9mm. I had it verified by a good dealer friend, had it verified by the Area Firearms Officer, but it wasn't enough... I had to take photos of it with a caliper and email them to a "Firearms Tech" @ the CFR in Ottawa. That didn't work either, they said I needed to use a digital caliper because using a vernier caliper was hard to read in photos, and there was a chance of parallax, so I did it again, this time using a digital caliper, that didn't work either, they needed the serial number in the photo, so I did it again, this time marking the serial number and model number and make, out with chalk, that didn’t' work either, they said they couldn't include the headspace extension in the measurement, so I respectfully argued my case, and took a photo with a round in the chamber, with the barrel out of the pistol, I showed that the round sat flush with the head space extension... and after playing this game for three months, I won. I took possession of the gun, and ... well I sold it on here for a little over $1200.00....
A friend had the same pistol, a model 59, he measured his and it measured 103MM, I measured it a few days later for him, and I got 103.62MM still not enough!!!!!
I have no intention of selling this model 34-1 if I ever get it, the current owner and I are going to try and have it re-classified.
I'll let you guys know how it works out... hopefully in less time than three months...
