I have my eye on those rifles for some time now. I like how the magazine is designed. $449 is a very good price. I would have loved to get my hands on the 22 Mag. Let us know how it shoots...

@358 BLR,
You bet, it comes with a second mag already in place!
Sweeet! I've been thinking about picking up a .22 win mag for some time now, you know, something for the meaner, nastier gophers (the mutant variety), but I didn't want something that was too pretty to haul through the bush and I was hoping for something with a decent magazine capacity. That little T-bolt could be just the ticket, especially at that price. The only down side that I can see, is that it doesn't come with iron sights. Which is unfortunate, because Browning has some of the nicest low profile irons around (I'm thinking BLR style). But I think I can get by without them.

The way I look at it, even a win mag is a 100 to 125 meter gun for anything larger then a gopher, so I wouldn't be investing a whole lot on optics. I'll

probably take the 3-9X30 Bushnell .22 scope off my 10-22 and put it on the T-bolt, then pick up something in a 4X for the Ruger. I guess it depends what

kind of shooting you're going to be doing. But, realistically, how far are you going to shoot with a .22 LR.

Now before everybody gets all defensive about my appraisal of the .22 LR abilities, I make these statements based on my own limitations: I mean hell

I can't even see a gopher at a hundred yards without a scope, unless of course its painted blaze orange, or maybe weighs in at 25 pounds.:)

I'm looking to put a scope on my .22lr, I'm just not sure what. Like I said above, something reasonably priced. If you have any idea's, please let me know.

Thanks for the heads up, if in stock suspect one will be in the mail to me shortly.

Depending on how you intent to shoot your .22 may not need a lot of light gathering ability (i.e. large objective or high quality glass) but if adjustments do not work well (not repeatable) then that is still a nuisance.

Find for target shooting at 100m 6-18x 40m works well, 3-9x a little less power than would like for that (but works well enough at 50m). Current setups are:
6-18x Nikon on CZ453 (& Mini 14, Rem 5R, Savage 12)
4-12x Nikon on Marlin 60
3-9x Leapers on TC R55
2-7x 32mm Nikon on Browning SA
4x 32mm Nikon on Marlin Papoose

Am quite pleased with the Leapers from dlairgun.com ($88 compared to $130 from Frontier) - can search site for opinions on these, are also a few others who are happy with them on .22s.

That said, with the frequency that I seem to be moving scopes from rifle to rifle would no longer buy low end scopes - next year may buy another rifle and need to move a scope to it... The Nikon 6-18x 40mm is basically my all around scope (comes with shade, caps, and different turrets) but do have 3-12x as well for hunting.

Look what you've started.

So I went for a drive down to Bashaw today ( nice country down there) and, of course, I end up getting the Browning T-Bolt in .22WMR - I know, I know, you never saw that coming right.

Anyhow, since the iron sights on the T-Bolt are so crappy, I decided I might as well do the scope thing as well, so I ended up with a Simmon 3-9X32 Adjustable Objective .22 Mag scope for $80,

bases and rings for $50 and $20 for installation. So that's $579 + $29 GST for what should be a dandy little Varmint Vaporizer.:sniper:

Thank you ages802

I went to the range today, an indoor range because of the rain, to start tuning in my new .22 WMR T-Bolt and man am I impressed. That sweet little Browning

actually makes me look like I know what I'm doing out there. The action is a "click - click" dream come true and it is more accurate then I'll ever be. I had it

dialed into 3/4 of an inch above Point of Aim after eight 3 shot groups, which should put me close to dead on when I get out to a 100 yard range for the final

tuning. The $80 Simmons scope I bought for it is definitely the best cheap scope I have ever paid money for. It makes my $80 Bushnell .22 scope look

like a POS, so don't judge the Simmons .22 Mag AO scope by it's price tag, you'd be missing out on a great scope if you did. All things considered, I'd have

to say that is the best $430 I ever spent on a rifle and the best $80 I ever spent on a scope and I'd like to say THANK YOU AGES802 for bringing such

a great deal to our attention.

Y'all don't know where Bashaw Sports is?

NICE looking gun...where was this bought?
Well it's in Bashaw, of course silly, don't you easterners know anything?:p
That's Bashaw, Alberta. Just a site bit east of Ponoka, if ya already didn't know it.
You can Google Bashaw Sports and it'll take you to their website. When I was down there on Tuesday (they are closed Sundays and Mondays), they seemed
to have a good selection on hand.
