photo would be nice and the barrel should usually say rem 700 - - -.
the barrel count is whatever the seller say so.. since there is no way of finding how many round have been though. im sure you know rem700 actions are known to last and many custom build would use rem700 actions.. so if the price is right.. you can use till barrel is gone.. and replace it with match grade barrel with whatever caliber you want to use. it should have magnum long action so you can changeto 300rum 338 or whatever you want it to be. i would buy rem700 even if i dont need it if the price right! lol

I Just had a quick look at it today in the back of his truck. And forgot to even look at the barrel to read the exact caliber. I am going to creep the internet now too see if I can find a picture for reference in this thread. The gun itself is of save queen quality with the quick look I had. Blue was mint and stock was mirror finish.

I do know about the 700 action being used on build's, and its reputation for being strong as balls.

The engraving is not engraving, it is rolled on at the factory.

The J - Lock is not popular and many replace the firing pin assembly to get rid of it. Don't lose your key. It can be locked without the key but it requires a key to open it.

As with any 700 it should shoot very well and makes an excellent basis for an accurate rifle build.

700 BDL DM in 300 mag in good shape is $650-700 imo.
I had a BDL DM in .30-06 and removed the J-Lock. Was just left with a hole in the rear bolt shroud. Not a biggie to me. You could remove the Jlock and replace the rear shroud with one without a hole in it...
Buy it if you can get it for reasonable money.
They stopped making the BDL DM in 2005-06 or so.
