I know I should do a search, but I'm not sure I'd find the answer I'm looking for. That said; please explain co-witness.
I just mounted an Eotech on my AR15. I assume it means the Eotech and the iron sights should give the same point of impact, or is there more to it then that?
Thanks.

Hi again! Co-witness means you can see your iron sights through your dot sight. So if your battery dies you can still see the iron sights without removing your dot sight. They can be mounted so you see your BUIS in the lower 3rd of your Eotech;)

Right now the BUIS is lining up perfectly with the Eotech. I guess I'll need to raise the Eotech. I have it mounted right to the reciever so any suggestions on what to use?
Thanks.

You don't NEED to raise the EOTech, but if you want it in the lower 1/3, there are many riser makers for that. I found a true co-witness (no riser) to be the easiest - the front sight post never bothered me.

Yankee Hill Machine (YHM) is likely your cheapest, and Larue your priciest.

1340 Are you happy with the view through the Eotech as is with the BUIS at the same height as the Dot? Is your front sight restricting the view at all? The lower 3rd co-witness just gives a clearer view as less space in the view is taken up by the BUIS. Don't spend the cash for extras if your system works as is:)

I just put the Eotech on but haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'll need to do some sighting in, but at this point the BUIS and Eotech line up perfectly.
Hard to say right now if I like it or not.
