Please help me choose between 4 scopes!

Forgive for double posting this thread in the rimfire and optics sections, But I wanted to get equal input from the rimfire crowd. I would love to mount a scope for my 10/22. Will be used for hunting, not punching paper. Do not plan to shoot more than 100 yards, it's just a .22LR. What is the best value from the following 4 scopes? They are all roughly the same price (around $200). My main concern is durability/holding zero. Second concern is finding a scope with a forgiving nature when positioning your eye to see through it.

~$200 scopes:
(1) Mueller APV 4.5-14x40AO (min. 10 yard adjustable parallax)
(2) Leupold VX-I 2-7x28 rimfire (60 yard parallax)
(3) Nikon Prostaff II 3-9x40 rimfire BDC 150 reticule (50 yard parallax)
(4) Vortex Diamondback 2-7x35 rimfire (50 yard parallax)

Are Leapers/UTG bases/rings good enough to use, or should I be going with something more higher end? Any experience with Leapers/UTG?

Thanks a million,

of the ones you picked my choices would be in this order
1 leupold
2 nikon
3 vortex
4 mueller

I've looked through all but the mueller and they're all comparable glass. I think the leupold would be the most reliable. I like the nikon as well but why have bdc when you wont go past 100 yards. I've heard great things about mueller but haven't found a retailer yet. The vortex would be really nice but they have that huge adjustment ring that I think is so unneccessary.

Thanks for posting this question. I am going through the same process myself. I was seriously considering 3 of the 4 scopes in your post. Subscribed.
Sorry I can't add any useful input.

I put the Leupold 2-7x28 on my CZ 452. I'm very impressed, good glass and it holds zero just fine. It's also small and lightweight so it doesn't fell big and bulky on a .22 like a 40mm obj does.

Hunting what? I have a meuller, and it is great for long shots on gophers, or punching paper. It's very clear, and I can see 22 cal holes in paper at 200 yards.

You might want a lighter, non AO scope for general purpose hunting. The mueller's AO is handy for target shooting, allows sharp high magnification close or far, but I see little advantage for shooting in the bush. AO and high power are more usefull for shooting at fixed distances, or where you have lots of time to prepare for the shot.

http://www.whitefalls.ca/riflescopes.html is a certified Mueller dealer. The only certified Mueller dealer in Canada. They're shipping quotes are reasonable.

I was naturally leaning to the Leupold, but I think that the Prostaff II BDC 150 reticule would be a nice addition if I sighted it at 50 yards and wanted to make a 100 yard shot on the fly. Maybe even 150. I heard the Leupold glass on the VX-I is slightly better than on the Prostaff II, but not by much. How is the tracking on the Prostaff II? I'm sure the tracking on the Leupold is dead solid. This is looking more like a fight between the Leupold and Nikon for me right now. Vortex is good value, but I've heard lots of reliability issues. I know Vortex has an excellent "no questions asked" warranty, but I wouldn't like to waste a good day of hunting on account of it. Trying to find spare time these days seems to be a challenge for me. :(

Prostaff II versus VX-1 pros and cons?

I have 2 Mueller APV (All Purpose Variable) 4.5-14x40AO scopes on my hunting 10/22's
I highly recommend them!!

Do you have a BB, standard factory carbine? What is your M.O.A. with the Mueller APV on top of it? Just trying to figure out if I should upgrade from my stock standard SS carbine barrel to a BB. I would prefer to keep the stock barrel if it's accurate enough to keep the weight down.
