the 1942 mauser is a Luger 9mm made by mauser in 1942. With the holster, it should be worth a fair paice of coin. The FEG looks to me to be a Frommer "stop'. I remember reading about it in a book of mine but anything else about it escapes me, only remember the picture

Nice score, but I think he falls under 12.7 ?

12.7: PROHIBITED 12.6 handguns inheritable by immediate next of kin as they were manufactured before 1946.

< DOH! Esquif beat me to it, nothing to see here, move along >

He can pass them onto his kids too, I believe. Nice pistols, the holster for the Luger is a German police version.

According to last years(2007) Guns and Prices book, the Baby Frommer is kisted at $75 in poor condition to $350 in excellent condition, keep in mind too that those are American prices and that prohibs here are not worth as much as in the US. I have the Erquiaga y Cia Eibar Cal 7.65 Fiel listed from $75 in poor condition to $200 in excellent condition. The Mauser has 2 listings, one for commercial wartime standard, and one for 9mm Parabellum Military contract.

Can help you out a bit on this luger but need more information than already supplied.

As stated the holster is a police version and this is evident by the style of closure strap, police accepted holsters used this style closure with the army/navy/luftwaffe utilizing the 45 degree closure strap version with the buckle rather than the loop and stud.

Police lugers can be worth several dollars and so can many other Luger variations, In order to be correctly valued Lugers need to be examined by someone that is well versed in the many variations rather than just throwing out ball park figures- not trying to be critical of the other members pricing but that is the facts.

Lugers just like old colts are boosted in this day and age to enhance values while trying to bilk the unsuspecting out of their hard earned dollars. Not saying yours is incorrect but real values of any firearm is when the pistol actually changes hands from one owner to the other.

If you can supply me with more detailed information regarding all markings including the one on the magazine bottom and the manufacturer of the holster with the police acceptance we can nail the dollar value down a lot closer.

I will need the full serial number including the letter suffix at the front of frame via private message as we are not supposed to publically post serial numbers of Handguns on a open forum.

Also on the magazine do you see an arrow with the words of Haenal Schmeisser, or Haenel Schmeisser Patent anywhere on the tube.

Short of that I will be at the HACS show in March in Chilliwack BC and will also have a large luger display in Kamloops BC this spring if you need a hands on examination.
