Reminds me of 303, but it's rimless.

The second one does look like a 7.5x55.

First one is likely 8x56R. Pic on the second head stamp is a bit fuzzy, but looks like the stamp on some of the Yugoslav surplus I have. ?????

Edit: I meant to say Yugoslav 8x57 surplus.

Get yourself a copy of Cartridges of the World by Barnes. It's a very good general reference guide.

First one 8x56r you can tell by the way it tapers.
Second I am going to go with either 7.5x55 Swiss or 8mm Mauser

The second one, it sure looks like 8x57mm Mauser to my eyes!

Thanks Jonny. Yes, I was in a bit of a rush as my man at United had given me the wrong time for my flight and it was an hour earlier than stated. Also it was overbooked so I was keen to get in the queue!

All was well though in the end.
