Please;I need legal advice.

So I came home and my GF had forgotten to buy beer so I hit her and now I think she is not breathing...kidding... it seems that quite a few people order their handgun's magazines directly from the States, do I have the right to order an AR mag (7,62X39 30 rounds C products) and then pin it myself to 5?
Also can I take my XCR to a gunsmith to have a shorter barrel?
If so do I have to do some paper work or just a call to the RCMP to change the status of my rifle?
Thanks a lot!

I'm no expert but on the point of pinning your own mag, it would seem to me that you'd be in posession of a prohibited device up until you got it pinned... which would be illegal. "I'm only gonna break the law for a little bit" generally doesn't fly. Then again, I may be wrong.

Oh, and make sure the United States government does not prohibit the export of said magazine without the proper permits. (It will have noting to do with magazine capacity, just whether or not an Obomanut State or Commercerce lakcy listed the device as such.)

No big deal until you get caught, but time in a U.S. Federal pen will either break you, or make you a hardened criminal. If you manage to avoid the jail time, rest assured you will not face that danger again, bacause if you are arrested in the U.S. for a weapons export offense, convicted or not, I doubt you will get back in, ever. No Hawaii for your brudder's wedding, no snowbird years to Arizona, no stopping over on the way to S.A., no "Hangover" bachelor parties in Vegas - oh, wait that might be a good thing.

Our laws and their laws are different, and their laws apply south of the border. And their criminal justice system is draconian compared to our "catch and release and forgive" program here. If you need an export permit, and you cause the magazine to be exported without a permit - you know, like provide the money as an end user - should the exporter be investigated, you could still wind up in the deep brown goo if you stumbled across the border on your way to Vegas, and a bored Homeland Security type looked up your name.

Why bother?

couldn't you just get it(30 round mag) sent right to a gunsmith and pinned?

kind of like they do with prohibited pistols? send it to a gunsmith to get a longer barrel?

No you can't unless you pin the magazine before it leaves the US. And no you can't have a barrel shortened from non restricted length to restricted length, because once you shorten the barrel below 18" it becomes a prohibited device. You can however buy a newly manufactured restricted length barrel have it installed and have your rifle reclassified as restricted.
