Eventually I decide to get a custom 1911 pistol as my sports shooter. the budget is $3000 or less, requirements:
1.accurate is even better than sig210
2.reliability is as good as sig210
3.durability is even better than sig210
4.don't really care finish, stainless is asset

I know some custom pistol maker has good reputation, like STI,LesBaer,Nighthawk,WilsonCombat. but too many choices made me too much confused.

Kimber all the way. If its good enough for LAPD SWAT and the United States Marine Corps it should be good enough for target shooting

that might be true.but I doubt kimber custom 1911 can beat sig210;)

Les Baer is one of the makes mentioned that has an accuracy guarantee...
I doubt if any of them will be AS accurate as the 210...
Most guns inherent accuracy is comfortably beyond the shooter's anyway!;)

The Kimber Super Match is guaranteed to shoot a 1" 25yd group. That is comparable to the P210. Any custom gun that features a guarantee for accuracy should meet your criteria.

p210's accuracy could not better than 1" at 25 yards?

Hey P226 if you so obsessed bout accuracy, maybe get a Walther GSP or something purely for targets. Anything that can shoot less than fist shaped groups at 25 yards is good enough.

I am not sure what the acceptance standard is for P210s. The guns I have had come in, had test targets that varied from 34mm to 60mm at 50m. Thus the guarantee from Kimber (or other manufacturers) is comparable to what the P210s can do.

Just cuz the gun will shoot 1" at 25m doesnt mean it will in the hands of an inexperienced or casual shooter:rolleyes: . If u think starting out with a $3K gun will make u a good shot its like strapping yur a$$ in a Ferrarri and thinking you're an expert driver...The gun is only as good as the person holding it.
Good luck:)

+1 On good days I've shot some very impressive groups. On bad days I'm just making noise and punching holes in paper. Doesn't matter what gun or calibre or what excuse I may want to use that day. It boils down to the shooter. Buy a custom because you like it or want it but don't expect it to make you a better shooter. The accuracy specs or test targets provided are usually off a rest and don't mean much to me as I don't shoot my handguns off a rest. Rest assured any Custom 1911 should and will outshoot the shooter....

None of the guns recommended in this thread are "custom". A custom gun is a one off unit built by a gunsmith to your spec.

Although I agree with this statement, I would have to say that shooting my X-Five and shooting all my other 9mm (Kimber, Sig220, Glock 26 and Glock 17), without a doubt, the X-Five out shoots them all. The gun really does make a difference, but with that being said, I'm sure there are guys out there that can out shoot me with their Norc  .

I have never seen anyone shoot anything close to one inch groups at 25 yards. Heck, I hardly ever see anyone place their targets at the 25 yard line. Most shooters seem to be content with printing shotgun-like patterns at 7-10 yards. If you really can shoot one inch groups off 25 yards (off hand of course) I'm very impressed.

Where in my post did I say I could shoot 1" groups? I think I posted that I can shoot 'impressive' groups at 25 yards and, that is, 'impressive' for me.
Here's 2 targets at 25 yards off hand with a block stock Para SSP that I consider 'impressive', yes, there are flyers in them but I'm not claiming to be anything or anybody. No offense intended by this reply, just want to clarify my post. I'm not impressed by test targets or specs where they were produced in a 'lab' on a rest...
