please recommend high fixed mag scopes for BR shooting?

It's not fixed power, but I use a Mueller Target Dot Scope. 8 - 32 X 44. 30 mm tube. You can get one at amazon.ca for $322; I like mine on my Savage MkII; no need for a spotting scope with it.

sightron SII fixed 36 power with either the fine cross hair or the 1/8th minute dot, I prefer the dot
 
I've had both the sightron fixed 36 and the Mueller 8-32. I sold the sightron. I hate to say it but the Mueller has it all over the sightron 36x. Way clearer glass, nicer target dot, half the price, target turrets. Oh yeah and it's adjustable.

I have owned both the Mueller & the Sightron. In my opinion the Sightron was the far better scope.
 
In terms of optical quality, I have a Sightron and a Nightforce BR and they are both great scopes, you really need to have them side by side to tell the difference. The Sightron is half the price. A lot of BR guys use Weaver, Leopold and Sightron. I would check with Mystic for the Weaver and SIghtron, and sometimes Wholesale Sports has a killer deal on Leupold.
 
at 50 yds parallax would be my first concern. technique would be second. fine crosshairs. at 200 yds I can see the quality of glass making a difference, not at 50.

I have one of the last generation, made in Japan, Weaver KT15 scopes. Adjustable objective from 15yd to ∞, very positive and repeatable Micro-Trac adjustments, it has been more than adequate on centerfire rifles to 300 meters, so pretty sure it would do for your 22BR.

Best of all, it's $250CDN

hey Ted, I might be blind...but I see a K series and then a T series on Weavers website, but no KT series. :confused:

T series fit into my query at 36x fixed magnification, but the MSRP indicates they're a far cry from the $250 price range you referenced.

if you can PM me or mention where I should be looking, that would be greatly appreciated! :D
 
^The fixed power steel Weaver Micro Trac series is very old but well respected.
Superbly repeatable adjustments, but inferior coating on the glass compared to what you can get today.

not really a huge issue for full daytime match use at known distances & light recoil....

My mistake, Mr Friendly!

The KT is steel tube from USA, and we used them a lot up here for silhouette shooting. The one I posted you about has an alloy tube, and is certainly from Japan.

I will take a look at the designation on the scope, and get back to you this evening.

Well, Mr. Friendly, turns out I was right. The scope is indeed a KT15, a Weaver Classic series made in Japan.

...and wrong! The focus range on the objective is 30ft to ∞ , not 15yd to ∞ , and the adjustments are not Micro-Trac.

This getting old is interesting. :rolleyes:

Have tried several times to post pictures of the scope showing the designations, but Photo Bucket is just not cooperating at all. Will try them again later.

Anyone else noticed that PB has been having quite a few missteps lately?

I have one on my CZ American and shoot up to 100 yds with it, I am impressed with it shout out to another CGN member who recommended it.
