Having trouble dating the above rifle that belonged to my Grandfather.
Anyone have a quick solution /website to obtain such?

I reckon your one be 1st year of production. Nice rifles they be if in good, sound condition.

Yup, 1920 production, mine is SN# 24-- mfg same year.

i figured it would be early production. based on other searches.
It was redone by Steve Holborn maybe 15 - 20 years ago. My cousin had it and gave it back to me.
Now to reload and commence to firing !

Safety placement, #### on closing, a few other things. Were all fancy new tech in a 1920 sporting rifle. - dan

Yep, and the '03 Springfield style bolt & cocking piece for silent cocking/de-cocking when hunting.
