I "obtained" a very nice Match M1 Garand last Monday. It's either an Intermediate, or a Type 1 rebuilt to Intermediate standards. It's barrel is a SA 66 so it was rebarred at least once in it's life. From what I've read, only about 4000 of these rifles were ever sold to the public.

No I don't have the papers, and about the only way to check it, is to take it to the range, which I plan to. I've been "collecting" Garands for about 15 years now, and I've read a good amount about them. I've own, at one time or another about 40 plus Garands, and still have a closet full of them, so yes, I know a "little" about them.....

Now, having said this, what do you think it's worth???? (over all condition I would rate as "very" good)

Yes, I will get around to posting some pics over the weekend.

OH yes, save yourself a PM........... It's not for sale.

I would say if its that rare around 2500 ish If it wasn't rebarreled but since it was i would say 2000 ish Really depends on finding the right buyer.

I have one that is unissused in really good condition made in 7.62x52 (308) Made by springfield for the US Navy to shoot mines in the water. It shoots great and is allot of fun to shoot I paid 1600 for it and I wouldn't sell it...

The person that had it before I think didn't know he had to use grease for the action because it was dry when I got it or they cleaned it before sending it but the barrel was slightly dirty so I don't think that happend.
