I doubt you would find a gunsmith willing to rebarrel it; too much cost and too much work for the small return. You really have two options, find anther barrel or have Ron Smith rebore and rechamber it for you.

you have a gun that retails for what, around $350. A decent barrel blank will cost that alone. Then the chambering, tinkering and finishing to fit the action and you could have easily purchased 2 more rifles of the same stature. sell the gun and buy the caliber you want, you'd be way further ahead.

Those guns are that cheap? Ditch it and get what you want. For a $350 gun you're just pissing money away by putting work into it.

The calibre I want is not available. Kinda the whole point. Have a barrel already. Just wondering if anyone has done it?

It depends how easily the barrel is removed. Judging by the pictures on the web, the barrel is somehow secured to that "breechblock" assembly, which attaches to the receiver. If that part can be readily reused (ie internally threaded), you would be looking at $700 to $800 (maybe more) for a new barrel, installed. If that part cannot be saved or independently purchased and needs to be newly machined, I would guess that price jumps to $1200 and beyond. I guess the question is how badly do you want to spend money on this cheap rifle? I think it's highly unlikely anyone has re-barreled one, as doing so would be prohibitively expensive. If you are dead-set on doing this, I'm sure you can find a gunsmith willing to take your money, but to me it seems a massive waste of time, effort and money for little to no return over buying something else in the cartridge you want. And as I previously mentioned, you could have the rifle re-bored to a larger caliber in a larger chambering, but this may or may not work depending on the cartridges chosen. You would likely be looking at $400 for this service.

Blastattack thanks, $400 would be alright. Yes it does look like its threaded into the breach block, so it shouldn't be that difficult to do.
The calibre is 6.5x55
Frontier firearms has them on sale right now.
