I've heard of but never used this stuff h ttp://www.arma-coat.ca/frame.cfm?WebPageID=11, perhaps someone who has used it can chime in. I've used epoxy paints to protect aluminum floorplates but that is probably too thick for your needs.
google ceracote and order direct from the manufacturer. its not that expensive for a 4 0z kit. i bought a quart direct for $126 shipped to the border. you also need to sandblast and soak in an acetone bath. they have good instructions on there web site.
