My guess is some kind of clamp on muzzle brake.... Not sure if it would work very well but can't imagine anything else gun related.
Yup, I agree. A clamp on Muzzle brake.
They work reasonably well as long as they remain on the muzzle.
They have a tendency to chase after a round down the field when they loosen off and need to be tightened regularly.
