DWM was the most common make of the Luger at the time of the Great War: private company building them for the Government.
Many less were built by ERFURT, which was a Government arsenal.
I am sitting on 3 Lugers right now. Before they were Prohibbed, they would have brought more than a Garand. Each.
If I kick off tomorrow, they are worth $45 a ton for scrap because this is a FREE COUNTRY.
As to value, friend, I'm sorry I can't help. It's a beautiful gun and it should bring a very nice dollar but..... in THIS country?
It would be worth serious bucks in the USA, but I don't know how to get it in legally. There ARE people who handle legal exports. Down there it counts as a C&R piece: Collectible and Relic. We have no such legal category, so our historical pieces are going to Dofasco.
Wish it were sitting here..... all I can say.
