I believe You will need to get the slide milled.

Why an RDS on a Norc 1911?

i support people's ability to do what they want with their gear, just asking what your purpose is?

No sights drop in on norcs, youll need to get it milled.

Someone used to make a left side grip panel/scope mount. ( B-square, Millett ). Not super ###y but they worked nicely enough. That's probably you're easiest way to start. Once you fall in love with optics enough you can send the slide out to get milled.

shooter1of38 what difference does it make why i want to put a red dot sight on my gun. can't people like you just accept what the next guy likes on his guns. i'm sure i can tear apart your choices of firearms and accessories but
i won't because they make sense to you and that is all that matters. we have to stop berating other shooters for what they choose or questioning their choices.

If you are talking about the 1911A1 from the CanAm deal Yes you can mount a Fastfire II or a III. I mounted a Fastfire III on mine. Burris makes a mount for the 1911. The cut on the Norc is a little different so all I did was use some shim stock and tapped the mount in. There are two screws on the mount and when you tighten them up it wedges the mount into the dovetail slot.

I took Shooter1of38's comment the same way as you.
I have red dots on lots of my guns because I use them for bullseye.

Seems like this answers the OP's question nicely.

Mwjones, Actually, he has been here for 5 more years than you.

That's 5 years longer to learn to take CGN with a grain of salt.

Joined date and post count mean piss all among lots of members here.

That's because post count means absolutely nothing.

Anyway, joking side, that fast fire looks great. It seems like it might be low enough to actually use. I don't usually put optics on handguns, because of the change to your stance required to look through them.
