Please tell me what shotgun I have?

Hey , I was gonna fire a few rounds of 00 buck this weekend and seen the other SxS thread and read about his gone doubling.
So , how do you avoid the damage to your fingers like buddy did to his ? lol

And secondly, are the butt pads changeable? shotgun specific? I’d like to put on a really nice butted if possible.

Thanks

Start by shooting the lightest load you can find a box of at your local gun shop. Not 00 buck. Load one shell in one barrel, fire that. Load the other barrel, fire that. Then try both.

And hang onto the gun properly when you pull the triggers. I have had a couple 12 ga SxS double on me. Didn’t hurt me. Didn’t mangle my fingers. Just more recoil than anticipated and loud.

I owned a few lauronas sxs and over unders, good old hunting guns. Only downfall is poorly tempered springs
And brittle firing pins , minty shape 450/500$
There was an unfired in new cond with hangtags for sale
In exchange for 700$ few weeks ago

It appears to be in decent shape - a lot of the Spanish guns of that vintage are not. Fixed choke, double trigger guns are not particularly desirable in this age, and there is a flood of similar guns coming into the country from Europe and the UK. (eg Intersurplus et al.) If the gun had fairly open chokes (most are tightly choked), it would appeal to someone as an upland gun, which would increase its value. (250 - 400$)

Agree with most. Value $300. + another $50. / $100. if you ream out full cokes , which is eazy to do
but if someone else does it , may cost what it saves. I made up reamers years ago for this in 12 & 20 ga.

45C, just to state what may not be obvious: when it comes time to shoot it with two live rounds use just your index finger to pull one, and then the other, trigger. None of this two fingered silliness.

200-$300 guns very common poor quality that's the sad reality
Yes some people have had good luck with the occasional gun .
A Bakeil would be a better gun for 300$

I had a nice limbsaver pad that would have worked on that, they are a hi end pad, but sold the last one at last gunshow
You have to grind them to fit, easy with a jig and belt sander on a stand.
But it's doable with out a jig.
All you info on the gun is on the barrel flats, chambers, chokes, etc.
And as others have said forget the 00 buck shot for now and just one finger in the trigger guard, and light lead to start.

Those old pads go like that because the gun has sat in a rack on the rubber for about 50 ys.
If you want a quick fix, check out the flipflop pads, I will not tried it ,never had flipflops, but if no one is looking?

BTW there will be 2 screw thro the rubber, usually Philips , hate them, top will be down about 3/4" in center, bottom will be about 1 1/4 up from toe/ bottom , poke around with screw driver , you should feel the holes, start with a small pointy flat one till you find the screws.
If you have a new pad, just cut the old rubber off is the easiest, then take the screws out .
If you have to make new holes , glue in wood dowel first to plug old holes.

There’s nothing on the barrel that specifies th gage.

There are serial numbers on the upper and lower though.

Just saw what appears to be the same gun on Intersurplus in essentially equally rancid condition for $239. Only 16 of their 498 side by side shotguns are cheaper, so that tells you the esteem in which they're held.

Well that’s great news, now when I double up with some 00 buck and she breaks in half , I won’t be out a pile of cash.
