Went into several gun stores in West Kelowna and Kelowna, BC today, there is an abundance of SKS in all stores, but
they are all blemished, even the supergrades. Prices are a bit higher than last year, $230 seems about average.
What is the situation in your area?

On another note: I now have access to an abundance of smilies. Previously I just had about 24 rather ordinary
simley faces to choose from (the slow wave is my favorite) now I have a whole bunch but no slow wave.
Does this happen to everyone as you get close to 1000 posts or have I just stumbled on a feature?

I paid $269 a couple of weeks ago at hical. All matching numbers and unissued. Probably a little high for a sks but I am very happy with the purchase.

I have seen a few at Canadian tire for $209 but the quality is not great.

Some of the ones around here are non refurb but have been issued, I have 2, mine do not have matching mags, the all matching unissued non refurb SKS are in the $259 range! Before I bought one of those I would be stripping it down to make sure it was non refurb!
The thing about SKS is that they have been sold in Canada for 20 years or more and I think the market is not far from saturation. Also, part of the attraction is the price, so as the price goes up, less people will buy. Of course there will always be buyers for the pristine non refurb non issued copies, especially in certain years and factories/countries!

Canadian Tire still sells SKSs here for 184 , and they are not big sellers .The rifles look fine , but they all seem to have BBQ paint type finishes on the barrels now . Both CT and the LGS told me that SKSs are now coming in individual cardboard boxes , and not in a wooden crate anymore....not sure if that means anything or not...

I think I mentioned already but our CTC in Clayton Park location sells their A, or shooter grade on sale for $169.99.i got a heavy refurb izzy out of that bunch and a lightly used non refurb izzy, so far, I have my eye on another nice non refurb and again lightly used by the look of it!
Yea I don't think those sale prices will last long with the dollar dropping like a whores panties on Saturday night! I might just head in this week and get another 1 or 2!
