I read that provincial parks prohibit any type of firearms, including pellet guns. Not exactly sure what that means. Of course, can't take it out and shoot or display it but what about just bringing it in after good day's target shooting at a range/bush or hunting?

Where did you read that?

And in most provincial parks, you're too close to other people to shoot anyways (yes, even with a .22 ;)).

No... I'm not asking if we can shoot in a provincial park. Of course, a no no... That said, I know that Point Pelee is okay certain time of year for shooting a particular type of bird... Forget the name.

Asking if we can take them into a provincial park after shooting in a 'legal' area.

No firearm usage in Provincial parks except where allowed by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act(hunting regs). Encased and locked, in your vehicle, is ok though. Scroll down to #35.

"...a particular type of bird..." Ducks and geese near Pelee. Point Pelee is a National Park. No hunting, at all, any more.

Thx for the info. That's what I found too... Hmm... Looks like I didn't read hard enough. "No person shall use or display a firearm in a provincial park".

Firearms

35. No person shall use or display a firearm in a provincial park other than,

(a) a peace officer in the lawful execution of his or her duties;

(b) an employee in the Ministry or an agent of the Ministry for the purpose of wildlife management and control;

(c) a person lawfully hunting under the authority of subsection 9 (3) of the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997.

(d) a person authorized by the superintendent to use or display a firearm in a provincial park.

BTW, it's the Point Pelee annual autumn pheasent hunt. Not sure if it's on park grounds anymore if ever, but sure sounds like it. LOL!

But my CFSC instructor mentioned this. But I don't know if he meant in the park or around it, but people in the park can hear the shot guns going off.

I was recently at a provincial park and asked about it. I asked if i can store it safely in my jeep while camping nad use it outside park boundries. They looked shocked that I was so concerned as they appeaerntly allow hunting in some parts of the park. I'm not sure if thats true, but they def don't have any problem with it. I will note that this was in a firearm friendly area, I dont know if all parks would be like this.
If its in your car they would need a pretty good reason to start searching.
