:( Did I miss clicking something? I tried to share a photo I took with my air rifle, but it won't appear. Anyhow, what do you shoot for fun?

I've saved a lot of the 'pull-tab' lids from cat food cans. they have the convenient tab to hang them on target stands, tree limbs, whatever. You can thread several on a string and hang horizontally to create a target 'line' of sorts, too. They last well with pellets and bounce around satisfyingly when hit. Also rubber balls of whatever size challenges you - reactive and make a good moving target too.

Balloons are always fun to pop at different ranges, and can be tied to branches and twigs.A large plastic container that they put laundry detergent, is good for long range shooting, as you can hear the thud when it hits.

-Clay pigeons (like for skeet shooting)
-pop cans (cant go wrong with a classic)
-2L and 4L water jugs filled with sand
-Tumbler ground targets (typically only good for rimfire)
-Tannerite (but your neighbours will hate you)

A trip to the thrift store will yield toy soldiers, and similar items to shoot. You have a airgun, so go to war against these dastardly toys. They are small, mean looking, and prime for the shooting. We can get lucky, and not damage them too much with just a few shots.

A long time ago, when spruce 2x4 was cheap, I cut up a bunch into 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 3" - still have more than a 5 gallon pail full. Grandkids call them "pretend gophers" - stand them at random distance in the grass - if hit, they bounce and flip. Also, if like me, a plethora of cut golf balls on hand - they work great too - as long as they can be seen in grass, they are a "viable" target for plinking. Holes in paper targets gets old really fast with the little ones - they want to see something happen, if they or a peer do make a hit.

As you get better over distances, 12 gauge shotgun hulls are fun. They fly all over which gives a satisfying result. Takes awhile to wear them out. Go to the right places, you can get lots for free

Your post-count is still too low.

- Spoons (from the flea market) can make fun reactive targets.
- Hard candy/ cereal/ dried pasta... as a bonus, the left over are biodegradable and can/will lure other target of opportunity

I have a couple knock-down targets that are a lot of fun. THe ones I have come with replaceable apertures so you can open it up or close it down depending on skill level. Pretty popular and satisfying when you knock one down- and then just pull it back up with the reset cord.

Water balloons are a favorite around our house.

The dollar store and party stores have some small ones that fill up to about the size of a baseball. We like those the best.

There is often a hose or faucet adapter to make it coinvent to fill.

SOUP SKEET!!

Fill an empty soup can with water right to the brim. Put another empty soup can on top of it upside down. Shoot the bottom can. The water explodes upwards and launches the top can 10 to 30 feet in the air depending on caliber. Then use a shotgun to shoot the flying can out of the air.
