Hi...Got a question for you M98 Mauser experts... I have a Spanish Model 44 (98 style) 8x57 , the so called Air Force Mauser.. I'd like to know what model of bayonet it would take... It has the 1 3/4" bayonet bar with no adaptor like the Spanish M43 Army rifle has.
Would it take a a German or Czech type short one , ring or no ring? ...Anyone know for sure the name or model of bayo I would advertize for?

Thanks for the help

Bob

Proper Spanish bayonet is similar to the German K98 bayonet. They are built more lightly and are unmarked. Just by picking them up you will feel a weight diffrerence.

Thank you for the info

Thank you JP for the info...If a regular German K98 will fit , I'll look for one of those , I don't need the proper Spanish one - just one that fits to compliment the rifle... The M44 I have is a good representative , has all matching numbers , good solid wood and a decent bore...
Too bad there is not more 8x57 surplus ammo around anymore , but it had to dry up at some point....

Regards
Bob
