Hi,
I'm hoping it's a carbine but fear a cut down. Bbl length is 25.5". Can you confirm carbine is shorter? There is evidence something was formerly attached to the underside of bbl 4" from muzzle, now a shallow dovetail like depression there
Thanks, Alice

I would like picts of the barrel knox form in front of the receiver. What is the lenght of the barrel now?

Probably my favourite milsurp to shoot (along with my 12.7mm Swedish Rolling Block and Swiss Vetterli). Now that I have 50 brass, one of the next Milshoots I'm going to shoot it with 500gr cast over Blackpowder. :D

Hi Alice ..

This is what it's supposed to look like .. ;)

You'lll find a 125 pic photo montage of an "all correct" with clear detailed markings 1887 I.G. (Infanterie-Gewehr) Model 71/84 (11mm) Mauser (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=71, displayed in the Germany - Milsurp Knowledge Library (click here) http://www.milsurps.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15

1887 I.G. (Infanterie-Gewehr) Model 71/84 (11mm) Mauser
(Manufactured at Amberg Arsenal in 1887)

Finding them in really good condition can be a challenge. Personally, I love shooting this vintage of old milsurps.

Hope that helps ... :)

Badger
