If you are like me the problem is not the gun, it is MAGS, they are expensive and the
lips do not last long. I have been trying different mags for 10 yrs and finally found
mags that work. they are loose on the sides but you can epoxy aluminum strips
and you are in business the mag to get is the Pro Mag Colt AR and all you need to
do is file a knotch for the mag ret on the rear ,, DO NOT file deep as the mag follower
rides in the grove so you only

You do not modify the gun only the plastic mag , the rear of the mag all you do is make a file cut so the
mag retention holds the mag and that is it. it took me less than 5 min to do one.

I'd be interested in pics too. After I see them I may look at modifying the receiver. Love the gun but the OEM plastic mags are pure crap.

Steve, you would be doing a great service if you could bring in a bunch of affordable mags, even if we do have to modify them ourselves. I'm so close to selling mine strictly due to mag issues.

Tried this today. RRA polymer pistol mags work fine with a standard magwell hold on the gun. I didn't notch the mag as I didn't want to go down that road with a pistol mag, but the mag latch was strong enough to hold the mag in place with the hand there to just make sure it didn't wiggle lose. Ten round mag dumps make the gun soooooo much more fun.

No notch needed, find some 9mm AR mags and go!

Small sidebar....

Does anyone have an English instruction manual or step by step process on how to field strip an upper on one of these SAF guns?

**** Disregard. Figured it out. Handguards have to be removed to remove the pin holding the recoil doing and guide.
