Sounds like your front sight post might be for a standard length (22 in) barrel. Since you have shortened the barrel, it will require a different front post or for you to modify it's height. Check the stickies for info.

if your rear sight is at it's lowest setting would you not need a higher front sight not lower if your shot is high your rear has to go down our your front up.

yep, they make a higher front sight for the scout m1a's. I'll be ordering a one of those ASAP. Thanks guys
