So I sent this mold into RCBS in hope of getting a plug for the bottom of it. They sent back one that looks suitable, free so who is to complain. Only thing is I am not sure how to use it. The pieces they send were the plug, screw and flat metal piece.

Replace one or both of the Allen screws with a screw with a head. Ideally, they will be screws that will allow you to have a bit of play, but still allow the plate to be retained, allowing the mold to be opened, th bullet to fall free, and then the mold closed again with the plug in it's proper place.

Kinda hard to get ones fingers in there for fiddly adjustments while the mold is hot.

The other style RCBS/Lyman mold that uses a plug, uses a screw that is used to lock the plug in place by turning it. Those usually use a wooden handle to turn and lock the plug in place.

That's my read of it, anyway.

Cheers
