Plug In Wind Meter For Smartphones And Tablets By GeoBallistics

I've checked out the app and I have to say, barring a few little UI tweaks, I like it even more than BallisticFTE, which is tough for me to say as I have had Ballistic from the very beginning and watched it mature into a very solid platform with a great feature set. The plus in wind meter is pretty cool and I have one on the way, but I don't see it replacing the mini weather station I have right now with a Kestrel 4500NV on a vane mount. Another tool for the toolbox perhaps?

The real kicker with the BallisticsArc app is the map overlay functions, which at 16.99 are not cheap, but it's in the same price range as BallisticFTE. The map function allows a quick range card to be done up and for some really good shooting location scouting as well. All in all, seems like a pretty handy package that is still very new but nicely refined. I expect in the next couple of months we'll continue to see some optimizations on the software which I am looking forward to.

Weatherflow; it uses blue tooth to connect with the smart phone.
Looked at the receipt; I was wrong, I paid $39.95 plus taxes.
So far it seems to work but I can't figure out how to calibrate the compass and the instructions talk about a switch on the unit but there isn't one...Put it out in the wind and it does give average and gust reading.

wasrupzuk, could you check to see whether the wind meter works with the BallisticsArc app (iOS, if you can). I don't suspect there are any changes to this version and the geoballistics branded one, and the weathertech version is easily available in Canada.

Wow very cool! sure beats $300 for a bluetooth Kestrel meter. I wonder if it would be compatible with Strelok Pro on Android.

Sorry, I don't have iOS nor do I have the BallisticsArc app...Is it available for free on Android?

Unfortunately not yet, thanks for the intent though! Watch for it in the coming months though, I know I quite like the program on iOS

Could you elaborate as to what happened to your Weatherflow? I have one but have yet to try it out. Was planning to use it for my iPhone 6+
with their IOS app. I mostly use the AB Mobile app however I have not looked into how or if the device would work from my app hence will go for the one made for it for now.

You can buy a windmeter from Vaavud for cheap. I don't know that it interfaces with any ballistics software but it's easy to put in the couple of numbers you need for the ballistics. The app is for Android of course, the most common OS for smart phones in the world, also for iOS.
