I have a 1943 six port former avt-40. Has the sling slots like a mosin 'navy stock' thick stock and thick trigger assemblie. The bolt is still silver. And no import marking. All markings match. Not going to bother posting a bunch of pictures it basically looks like every other one. Are these any more valuable than the other type or are they just a 300 dollar rifle as well?

What do you mean by "former AVT"?

It was an automatic svt 40. They were called avt-40s they removed the parts that made it auto and sold it off as an svt. And no need to be ignorant or saucy i just asked a quetion. a guy traded me it and hes climbing over himself to get it back. Was curious if theyre any more valuble.

You have an SVT40 in an AVT40 stock...

If you have an AVT40 that just has the parts removed to make it "go fun"... well... you figure it out...

Not sure whether that would be considered a prohibited converted auto?
Do you have 12-3 on your PAL?

It's probably just a regular SVT in an AVT stock. After the war the soviets refurbished alot of SVTs into AVT stocks. Mine has one, and my buddy's has one. They're no more special than a regular svt. But that's just my opinion.
Now if you take it to the range an it goes full auto...let's just say you're looking at a nice prison sentence and a firearms prohibition IF any law enforcement agent ever finds out.
Cheers

Forced matched SVT maybe, in an AVT stock.

Original AVTs were full auto. If you have one, I hope you have the CA 12(x) endorsement on your PAL.

But probably not important.

Its not full auto ive tryed it. But nothing is force matched all the serials match there are no crossed out serials and the only thing electro penciled is the bolt. Has the avt trigger group minus the fun bits and stock the serials all match. It was a simple question i didnt know for sure if theyre is any more value or if its just another refurb. i know tne laws on full autos all i asked was if there was any more value to it.thats the question i asked not about full autos or jail time or how its not an avt. The title literally says fomer avt and that is true it was once an avt then it was converted back. I dont even know why i ask questions on the internet.

If it is an avt, it was full auto. If it is only semi auto now, and was full auto, it would be a converted auto and thus prohibited.

Since you say it "has all the fun bits removed", then it is an avt like you said, or an svt with an avt trigger group which means it isn't all matching.

People aren't being ignorant, they are trying to help you identify what you have since you didn't post pics, and give you an idea of what it is worth. Which is what you asked for.

I'm not trying to be a knob, but I dont think you do.
Years ago, it was fine to convert FA to semi only. I used to have a Bren and and MG-34.
However, that is no longer allowed. Converted Autos (CA) guns are prohibited, and can only be owned by "grandfathered" owners with 12-3 on the back of their PAL.

Never got duped. As i said i got it in a trade and the original owner was crying to get it back. So much so i traded it back to him along with my TT-33 and six boxes of ammo for the tok for a SA NM 1911-A1 with adjustable sights and hogue grips 9 mags, a compitition speed holster with room for 7 mags, a book on 1911s, two sets of other grips and about 1200 rds of ammo. Thats why i asked if it had any value

It may not have much value now but once that train leaves and no more SVT's are coming in, It will be worth a lot more.
