My Luddite friend called me up in a panic yesterday and asked for my help locating some PMC ammo loaded with Barnes X bullets. He's specifically looking for the 7mm Mag loading with the 160gr bullet. He's already called Lebarons, Epps and Gagnons with no luck.

Was browsing the PMC site yesterday for him and could not find that loading, seems it's discontinued. Don't know why he's bent on it as I know for a fact that he reloads...

Has anyone ever heard or used of this load in the past? Is it even worth it to place a WTB ad on the EE for it?

I had 5 boxes of that stuff like 20yrs ago, pretty sure it's not around anymore. This was the original xbullet and I think the velocity listed was 2820fps or something like that, pretty slow rumour has it the first xbullet s made pressure sooner. I wouldn't use em nowadays if I found them.

Use Barnes vortex 150ttsx as a substitute and be happy.

Thank you very much for your informed response and advice tuffbuff, I will pass it on verbatim to my friend. Would you happen to know who sells the vortex load? Maybe CanAm?

Not sure in your area but cabelas has in stock online as well as 160 regular tsx bt. Another decent one is federal 160 trophy bonded tip but they seem hard to find for quite a while.
I'd start close with websites and calls and work your way out, the Barnes ammo seems to show up in sporadically.
