Have any Polish-made SKS rifles ever been imported? Have any of the dealers ever stocked them? I've tried searching the threads but haven't been able to find anything. I've also never seen one on the EE. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

There was very few made under 1000 all of them ended up in Parade Companies and as Funeral Rifles for The Military Brass who get Army, Nave or Police official funeral. The Last Salvo. There was about 50 rifles offered for sale last year, quality is very high but this rifles are only meant to fire 7.62x39 blanks the barrel has a pin going through just above the chamber. One other think they are all just straight pull piston is removed and the place where it would go there is a weld spot so it can not be put back

They aren't really a thing - any production numbers were insignificant. I believe the poles issued Russian SKS rifles with Polish made stocks for field use.

That would explain why all the info I've found relates to the rifles only being used in official military parades, honour guard and such. It also explains why there are lots of Polish light-colored laminate stocks for sale on the internet.

Shooting blanks or not, I'd still buy one for th collector aspect. They look beautiful with the deep bluing.

I'd take one.

From what I know from old Army sources they started tooling up for mass production in mid 50s to replace all M44 but few months later Soviets gave the licence for production of AK-47. SKS plans were ditched all together all rifles made were put into long term storage. They were taken out of storage late 60s early 70s for parade use to replace SVT 40s in parade service at the time. There was less then 1000 made some sources state 150-200 rifles others say there was enough for 2 battalions meaning under 1000. It is very hard to get any information since all armament production numbers are still considered classified info by Polish Government

There are pictures of the honor guard carrying very russian looking guns. Russian wood etc. I've been unable to find any pics of the aresenal markings to be sure, but the wood looks of russian birch. More recent photos all show the lighter colored stocks with the unique four port hand guards.

It would stand to reason that if the rifles are for parade use, they be damaged over time and stocks would need replacing. Hence why stocks show up for time to time as surplus, with signs of wear.

If the Russians gave them the first runs, they may be going through various refurbs as part of their parade duty life, or even the blank firing mods.
