When the Polish Tokarev deal offered brand new pistols, I could not resist. I bought two. I like this caliber. I already had a pair of Norinco Tokarevs, a pair of Russian Tokarevs, a 1911 in 7.62 and, of course a PPSh 41 to help prevent excessive ammo build up…

My 1911 uses handloads. I use it as a target pistol and will probably try it in CQB. The ammo I load for it is quite mild. The other day I noticed I had a pile of brass ready to be loaded and some Hornady XTP 90gr Hollow Points, so I loaded some to test in the polish Tokarevs, which seem to be the most accurate of my collection.

Today I shot the Polish Toks with milsurp and with the hollow points (over 14.4 gr Win 296 = 1550 fps). I also shot the 1911 with the two accuracy loads using Berry’s 110gr plated M1 Carbine bullet and a 96g SWC. At 25 yards all three guns shot well with all loads. The 1911 loads are very accurate, equal to my best target pistols. I made it by re-barreling a Norinco 9mm that shot very poorly.
