Some of my wife father's papers. He came to Canada before WWII as an orphan. raised by an uncle.
Arrived at Halifax july 2, 1938
Joined British army Polish corps. Tanks or light vehicles, Wounded then transferred to Intelligence.
Returned to Halifax after war on May 20, 1946
Long dead, late 1970's of Pneumonia with only one lung.

Her mother passed away this year and we are cleaning up her mother's place.
She was wondering what these two papers were about.
It's been too long ago since i regularly got my butt whipped by a former Polish junior chess champion while drinking vodka.
My chess game dramatically improved as I help help him with English.

the bottom is id paper stating the name and the medal he was honored with--the first paper is a certificate stating who he is related to-as to his mother and sister who is in canada--a short paper work certifing from Warsaw office of his background in relation to his family.hope this helps

I'll try, my Polish isn't 100% but I can shed some light...

"Mysłobowska 12" is probably a street address so street name/house/building number. So back then you were ID'd : name + home address. Kinda like John Smith of Bloor street, house#12, city of Toronto, etc,etc.

In the last picture it looks like a military document sort of thing.

This document was issued to a soldier in the 1st armoured division so most likely a Polish armoured division in the British army.

Legitymacja Nr. 595/46 - This would be Official Document (as issued by the government, not just a piece of paper), 595 would be the sequence # (next guy in line would get 596, then 597, etc) and 46 is the year.

Stopien, Imie, nazwisko is rank, name, surname in this case Corporal Jojne Kaplan.

Oddzial is unit in this case Baon Strzelcow Podh. Something like "battalion shooters" Kinda like naming a cavalry unit?

Odznaczony zostal- 'was awarded or recognized' --> Medalem wojska po raz 1 szy - 'Military medal first' or probably 'First military medal'

Podstawa rozk dz 1 dyw panc nr 15/46 - Base order 1st armoured division #15/46 (I'm guessing day/year b/c underneath it says 15 IV 46 so 15th April 1946)

Okragla pieczec - (Circle stamp) so this is the spot to apply official stamp like the black square on the top right of a pre addressed envelope where you're supposed to apply the stamp.

Podpis Dowodcy - Signature of official.

Nearly perfect translation but needs small corrections. Here it should read: "......certifies that Kaplana Jojna (mother Rochla)....."
The link to the medal is incorrect. It shows The Polish Army Medal which was established in 1999 and has nothing to do with the Second World War. The correct medal is the Army Medal for War 1939-45 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_Medal_for_War_1939-45). This medal is long defunct.
Gen. Klemens Rudnicki was a commander of the 1st Polish Armored Division since May 1945 which at that time when the said medal was awarded to Cpl. Jojna Kaplan (1946), was stationed in Germany as an occupying force.
It is also interesting that the certificate is dated May 6, 1938 (original: 6.V.1938). So, a bit over 1 year before the outbreak of the Second World War. Apparently, he needed that certificate for immigration to Canada.

Of course I have fun doing translations like this,especially since I can learn some history at the same time.You are lucky to know at least some of Kaplan Joins life story. I don't know any historyof my paternal grandmother. She married my grandfather few years before war and convert end to Catholic Church.AFAIK her entire family perished in Shoah except for very distant cousins living in Soviet Union.Even from those only one survived and his grandson emigrated to Israel.

What I wonder is how did Kaplan Jojna ended in Polish Armored Division since he was in Canada at outbreak of the war. Where Polish Consulates recruiting for Polish Army or did that go thru British official channels?

After War/invasion of Poland started, he wanted to join Canadian army. Was under 18 and needed consent from Uncle Sam(Wenger) couldn't resist the pun :) , which he could not get.

That forced him into somehow joining the free Polish army through the British system.
 
Popular name in some parts of the country.

For example Ksawery Pruszynski was a well known writer and by coincidence solder of both Podhale Rifles and 1st Polish Armored Division.His son Alexander was a candidate for Belorussian Presidency a while back.
