The difference in price suggests that the polish model is superior in terms of it's condition.

However I'm kind of a cold war junkie so I like the idea of having something genuinely soviet.

Is it possible to buy the star grip inserts separately for the polish model?

Tokarevs

keep in mind Poland was part of the Warsaw Pact, and those pistols were made in the 50's, so i consider them soviet weaponry even though there technically not. I have both, i bought a polish one from SFRC and it is mint, and beautiful machined gun, the russian are excellent as well, but a little used. I find they shoot best with the Russian Corrosive stuff, very cheap as well.

Just acquired a very nice 1943 Russian Tok .... just have to clean off the cosmoline :)

The hard part is finding some non-corrosive ammo for it ... seems like there's a serious drought!

Radon factory is one of the best firearms factory in the Warsaw pack
not that Tula factory is anything to laugh at but Tula put out a lot more firarms
so I'm sure there a little looser made (bulk)
my factory 11 is tight as tight as my sig

I'm with you with my love for Soviet pieces, but I opted for a Pole tok rather than a refurb Russian. The fit and finish is incredible, and it is a waaaay better shooter than any of the Russians I've had the chance to shoot. My 1954 is pretty much a brand new 59 year old pistol...

I just received my Polish factory 11 yesterday and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I'm very impressed with the fit and finish of this gun. Brilliant engineering on the trigger group and I love the fit in my hand. Can't wait to get it to the range, trigger pull feels awesome.

The non-corrosive is not necessary. I have put over four-thousand rounds of corrosive surplus through my Tokarev. All you have to do is clean it when your done shooting. It takes less then five minutes to clean. Mine still looks mint (other than some holster wear on the slide) and not a trace of corrosion. Seriously, just buy the surplus, you will get a lot more enjoyment out of you TT33.

I'm on tok # 4 now. Two Russian refurbs, one Polish unissued, and now a Russian non-refurbed. So far I have only shot the refurbs, I like the idea of keeping the Polish one brand new. It is certainly an addiction once you start.

x2

But if it is not a possibility at all then get the Russian one because these were issued and probably saw action even maybe shot a few bad guys. Much cooler if you ask me ;)

A Russian pistol shooting bad guys? Maybe.
A more likely scenario would be the Russian officers shooting the young conscripted Russian boys who were frightened and broke rank and fled from the slaughter of the MG42's as the Germans mowed line after line of them down.

I bought a Polish one last December...still haven't shot it. I shoot corrosive through my Russian Tok's all the time but can't bring myself to shoot corrosive through the Pol
I have not shot my Polish yet either... however when I do, I will fire corrosive down the pipe...Its what they shot back in the day.... I like the idea of shooting what they shot.
