polished bolt carrier

I just stripped the bluing and polished the bolt carrier of my cz 858 without pausing to think how I will prevent it from rusting.. Any ideas?
 
I have the one on my sks polished been a few years and not a speck of rust just giver a wipe of oil or whatever you use once and awhile.
 
Yep i see a growing and disturbing trend when people care more about how their gun ''looks'' than how it works or performs .. Firearms are tools not jewellery.. If its not broke dont fix it .. Countless times at the local range almost every time i see someone having malfunctions with their gun its because of aftermarket parts or modification and customization .. There have been many cases in the military and law enforcement where aftermarket parts or weapon modification has cost someone their life .. I prefer to keep my firearms especially the inner workings how the designer intended ..
 
Is a fake AK cooler than a CZ 858/VZ58 ? its like making a Pontiac Fiero kinda look like a Ferrari with a cheap body kit .. Not to say the 858 is a #### Fiero lol but u know what i mean ..

I think the VZ58 is plenty cool .. the Veit Cong commandos preferred them over the AK because you could load them on the fly with stripper clips ,, way better if you have a mag shortage .. Ever seen the movie Full Metal Jacket ? the sniper girl in the end is using a VZ58 ..

Hit it right on the head. I experienced the same thing just yesterday when I was shooting my Glock. A guy with a highly modified 1911 was shooting standard 230 gr. ball and was having problems with feeding and ejection. It's nice to appreciate a good looking firearm every now and then but personally I consider a well travelled rifle with scratches, etc. but kept maintained to be much more attractive. All too often now you see these guys shooting their firearms and too worried about whether they're going to scratch them or ding them. Most people cringe when I'm shooting my Benelli m4 and show it too them, they always ask, "What did you do to that thing?! Did you drop it?!" Nope, I shoot my guns.

I'm leaving the interiors the way they are. I'm just changing to the cosmetics of the rifle to the way I like it. I don't see the big deal

It's not a big deal, it's just funny. I think guys who wear make up are funny too, same thing:)

And I took a wire wheel to get the paint off mine, so it would be shiny.;) I suspect there's enough nickel in the steel it wouldn't be a problem and a film of oil won't hurt.
