Polishing actions and barrels

Just wondering what all you guys are using to polish your barrels when there finished? Getting them shiny isnt the problem, how does a guy matte the stainless a little without media blasting, was kind of wondering if red scotch brite would do it? It would be nice to be able to better match the barrel finish to the action.

I had to use a scotch bright pad to match the finish on a weatherby vanguard when I installed a brake, it turned out real good. I keep lots of scotch bright pads on hand.

If you are down this way I would blast it for nothing, #6 glass beads look best.

This is #6 beads although I blued it afterwards. Will see if I can find some stainless pics, most ot the stainless ones I have done have been cerakoted. I have too many pics.
