Poll: What range was your BC Coast / Van Island deer taken at?

Longest one was close to 400 yards, closest was about 12 feet. If you hunt the thick timber you usually get closer shots, but I like to carry a rifle to reach out across clearcuts and other clearings if needed. Last 3 bucks I killed were under 50 yards.

Most (90%) between 10 - 100 metres, but a few 200+ and one at about 400.

most of my black tail hunting is done creeping the game trails way off the roads. finding sign and parking my ass. Honest estimates on coastal blacktail in my books has most under 20 yards and a larger majority of those under 10 yards. this is averaged over 17 kills, coastal black tails, region 2
