I am updating my inventory data. I have owned this rifle for a good many years. It is a typical Poly Tech M-14/S from years gone by. Looks like a used US stock. Can I ask what a fair value would be? Not for sale.

Depending on the year of the rifle. A real poly M14's from 2009 or prior is a solid 600 dollar rifle and one worth tuning, solid USGI stock could bring a few $$ extra

This one is definitely pre-2009. Ugly wood seems to have places cut out where something else would have fit. Thank you for the update!
If it is a cutout on the right side near the back of the receiver, just below the op rod guide track, that is where the selector switch would be if it was a real M14 allowing for semi automatic fore or automatic fire, if the rifles was capable of it like the original M14 was.
Look at your serial number, what are the first 4 numbers, it will give you an idea of the year.
