My son is looking at picking one of these rifles up. Question: Where is it made and by who'm and is this a restricted rifle? Any other info on it would be appreciated.

Non-restricted, Made in China. Great rifles for what you pay, especially good if you like to tinker with. Virtually every sticky here in the MBR section are on the Norinco or Poly M14's, give them a read through and it'll probably answer every question you'll ever have about these rifles.

Happy shooting! :D

I've had several in the past, & currently have a Marstar 2007 model with a poly tech stock I got off the EE. If I had to choose ONE rifle to have in my gun cabinet, THIS WOULD BE IT!

NON-Restricted
308 or 7.62 Nato (depending on who your talking to...)
Detachable 20/5 round mags
Bayonet lug on the newest ones!
Synthetic stocks on the poly techs!
LOTS of aftermarket stuff for them if you want to customize...

They are ONE FUN RIFLE!!!

Cheers
Jay

Yup, he bought it. I had a Norinco several years ago. Definatly fun to shoot, and with the one I had if you squeeze just right it would do a 3 round burst. Took about 200rds to shoot it in then no problem rocking a 10"x12" steel plate at 400yds and keeping it rocking.
No worries about the reloading crap. My basement looks like the Hornady factory now. He'll be taking his back to Edm. with him. He's 4th year weapons tech with the PPCLI
