Polytech M14 receiver wear

I have a M305 by Bell Lifestyles.ca by Poly Inc. I have fired approximately 1000 rounds out of it at numerous matches and practices sessions this summer. I have noticed at the right front of the receiver where the bolt cams down and into the receiver, that the receiver has worn away approximately 1/8 of an inch. What causes this problem is it the operating rod? Can the receiver be built up with some welding rod or is it safe the way it is?

1/8" of metal wear is quite a bit! How did you come up with that value? Can you post an image. This doesn't sound good.
