In an estate sale, I bought 4 shotgun presses. Two are Mecs and two are P&Ws.
One of the Ponsess presses is a 12, but on the reverse side is another set of tools for paper hulls.
How is the best way for me to determine the gauge of the tool heads?
I will soon be emptying the powder and shot from these presses and giving them a thorough cleaning,
But I am still trying to determine what I bought.
Thanks,

Assuming you have all the pieces and that they are P&W 375's, you can measure the inside diameter of the sizing die/shell holder. 12ga should measure around 0.805" or so. 0.740" for 16ga, 0.690" for 20ga, 0.615 for 28ga and 0.475" for 410 bore. Those are approximate measurements.
