Poor Mans Buckshot

I know a guy just like this, I think his balls and his wallet is in his wifes purse. I'm all for being creative, but other than an exercise to see if it's possible, it appears to be a time vampire.

That's a sad thing...

It does show some ingenuity, but as a poster above said, I don't fancy all of the abrasive grit stuck in the pellets either, wads or no.

But if all you're shooting it in is something like a cheap norc coach gun or gun show find complete with electrical tape and lock wire stock enhancements, then go for it.

If I still had a shotgun I'd probably be arsing about with cut shells or wax slugs, ala Barry & Eric on iraqveteran8888

Or else breaking out my old Lyman slug mold.

The guy I'm talking about asked for help to get into reloading. In my mind that's lend you some gear/and the how to/what not to do until yours comes in, not meaning you never need to buy anything, ever. He's been messing around with empty airgun co2 cartridges cut for slugs(cut for a mold?) and picking my brain about pressures. How the hell should I know?? I think he's using steel slingshot bearings for buckshot as well. I think these two would get along famously.;)

I thought it was quite impressive, making your own shot quick and easy, maybe for use at a camp. I wouldn't worry about the sand, it's encased in a plastic wad. As for accuracy, you don't know till you try it. Perhaps the guy only needs a few rounds for quick shots under 20 yards. I saw a video where a guy made his own slugs by drilling a hole in a piece of wood and using it as a mold. Not only did he cast them but he filmed the shooting as well. I just enjoyed watching someone doing it a different way.
