Poor man's M1 Garand options

Hello all...

My cousin is looking for an M1 garand and cried when i told him the price.

I was wondering if there is a 'poor mans' alternative that would be worthy of sufficing until he has said funds for a real one.

I know 0.0 about these things thats why I posted the question. I did a 36 month search and I believe I am going to hear that a m14 and m305 are similar but I want to be sure.

M305 is pretty close and the price tag is very nice.
They are very well liked by the many CGNers that own them.

The actions are basically the same with a M305 and a Garand but with the removable mag you don't get the "ping" you get when the enbloc pops out of the Garand.

Tell him to buy a M305 & an SKS, both best sellers in canada.
I forgot the CZ858.
The M305 is the closest to the garand, however the SKS & the CZ858 are good alternatives for hunting and plinking & cheap to feed.

Debt by 1000 mods instead of one big expensive purchase. But upgrades are way more fun and one's person knowledge of the rifle increases a lot more.

For 20 bucks will record "THE PING" on a micro chip and build it into his M305 to go off when ever the mag is empty.

As close to the real thing as your gonna get without forking out the big bucks.

EE prices are between $1000 to $2000. Last gun show I saw one for $2800. Parts kit on the EE was just under $1000 and that was less barrel and receiver.

Century quit selling guns in Canada. That's where I got mine for that price. Nothing special, but it's the genuine article. God, the had some neat guns.
