Poor mans magazine extension

Hey guys! I am wanting to put a magazine release extension on my VZ but NEA's just isn't in my price range at this time. So my idea is to use a Hammer spur extension, file it to a snug fit and use that until I can afford the ambi release.

Only problem is that I don't have a digital caliper so I'm not sure which one to buy. Was wondering if my brothers up north can point me in the right direction.

Someone else did that on here and posted pictures. Can't remember who. You may be able to find it if you can search that somehow.

That's plan C... If plan A fails to hold securely.. Plan B is to dish out $ for the NEA parts.

Good Idea, I had been thinking about something like that too.
Digital caliper isnt necessary, a ruler will do, as it will need to be secured by a setscrew any ways.
The width is tapered from the bottom to top and has a few radius's, 5/16" at the bottom, 3/8" at the top roughly. The thickness( now I did use a dial caliper, at present have bad light I cant see that fine) is about .075 (in between 1/16" and 5/64")

Now you need to find an extension that will fit somewhat. I hope that helps.
